This strip sort of says it all, but I’d also like to chime in with my personal disappointment at Marvel’s recent moves. As dunderheaded as much of the handling of the New 52 has been, at least DC is trying to diversify things a bit by broadening their genre pool, you know?
I’m a little suspect about some of the finer details of this story at The Beat (there’s no way any building code ever would ever allow there to be one restroom for either gender for the occupancy numbers Marvel’s space would require,) the book Comic Wars really did paint an image of a man who would cut costs at a business by any means necessary as long as it made his shares more profitable.
Nicely done. And personally, I wonder if Marvel is just going to give up entirely and only print comics that include the words “Avengers” and “X-” something.
Remember 70s comics. Marvel threw all kinds of stuff at the wall to see what would stick. Kind of like what Image and Boom! Do now.
