Again: I’ve mentioned it on other Agreeable Comics publications, but I’ll be at the upcoming Boston Comic-Con this weekend (October 24+25) with The Loneliest Astronauts artist Ming Doyle and a bunch of postcards, buttons, and other tchotchkes related to the imprint, including copies of The Rack: Year One (Mostly).

Sorry, but are the recap captions entirely necessary? I can find out what happened last week just as easily by clicking the Back button; while the captions makes sense if you’re planning on serialising this comic in a newspaper, on the web itself they’re a bit of a distraction, I’m afraid.
They’re not entirely necessary, but I personally appreciate them on the more sporadic webcomics that I follow. It’s a quick refresher that requires no work on the audience’s part and takes up a small amount of space. I’m sorry you find them so distracting.
Personally, I like the recap. Gives me just enough info to read the current strip, saving me having to click “back”. I’m just that lazy.
Yeah, yay recaps for me, too. They might not be necessary for frequently updated strips, but for weeklies like this, it helps.
I was promised a chase.
I have the memory of a stoned 83 year old goldfish (a memory so bad, I almost added ‘pothead’ at the end there, because I’d already forgotten I’d typed ‘stoned’ a few words before) so the recaps are good for me too.
Fair enough, the ayes have it!
On the comic itself, the direction of this strip was an intriguing one. I have to admit I was expecting a sweaty cross-country pursuit with plenty of dirt under the fingernails and a hard-cop interrogation with twisted arms, so wrongfooting my expectations is a positive point. I wonder if the Sheriff is perhaps a little too relaxed considering that a young woman’s been battered to death and that probably doesn’t happen every other night, but from the dialogue his position is a believable one, so overall it’s a good development. Terrebonne is a town that’s evidently a long way away from the noir city, so the possibility of unconventional reactions is definitely keeping my interest.
Did she tape her “Aladdin Sane” album cover to the wall? That is awesome.
What year is this in?
Just found this comic – looks very promising. Liking it so far.
I like captions too. I like this comic so far also.
The recaps are great, the comic is great, glad I found this.
Just love the use of screen-print textures, and the whole retro look and feel! Check out the book-covers on the bed – Is that Raymond Chandler? And of course, “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas”. What else?
